CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Opening the spring portion of its 2025-26 schedule, Gardner-Webb (0-1) women's team fell 7-0 at No. 3 North Carolina (2-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Chewning Tennis Center.

The Tar Heels earned wins in the No. 1 and 3 doubles flights while taking a 1-0 match lead. Singles competition belonged to North Carolina as well with the Heels taking all six matches in straight sets to win the overall match with a clean sweep.

Gardner-Webb will return to the courts on Saturday, February 7, traveling to Salisbury, N.C. to take on the Indians of Catawba College in non-conference action. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
