CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb swimming team returned to the pool on Friday morning at Queens, falling in both men's and women's ASUN action
Despite the team loss, there were some good individual performances for Gardner-Webb, including that of junior
Luke Weber. Weber won the men's 1650 yard freestyle by four seconds, posting a time of 15:39.84. Teammate freshman
Victor Cury was third in the event in 15:50.17
Sophomore
Jillian Hawkins posted a fourth place run in the women's 200 yard freestyle. Hawkins finished with a solid time of 1:56.75 to finish as the highest GWU finisher. Senior
Sara-Michael Jann was fifth in 1:59.03 while freshman
Madison Richardson was sixth in 1:59.09
In the men's 200 yard freestyle, sophomore
Manuel Brandner placed sixth for the Runnin' Bulldogs, finishing with a time of 1:41.61
The women's 100 yard backstroke was one of the best events of the day for Gardner-Webb. Senior
Hannah Routh was on the podium in 57.40 seconds, finishing third. Meanwhile, sophomore
Kaitlyn Estes was fifth in 57.77 seconds, and junior Bella Palazzo was eighth in 59.04 seconds
Gardner-Webb finished as high as fourth place in both the men's and women's 200 yard medley relays. On the men's side, junior
Carter Redelman, senior
Justin Bender, junior
Jacob Jensen and sophomore
Luke Wesson finished in 1:29.59. On the women's side, junior
Slawka Ndubuisi, freshman
Jenna Valentine, sophomore
Dakota Townley and Richardson posted a time of 1:46.38
