CLEMSON, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb track and field team was back in action on Friday at Clemson, with the squad taking part in the Orange and Purple Invitational
Competing in the women's 800 meters, freshman
Karsyn Huskey recorded a time of 2:22.39, good for 17th in the event. Sophomore
Emily Leatherman was in the same event, finishing 22nd with a time of 2:28.60
In the women's 1-mile, senior
Jessica Perriello finished in 26th place overall, recording a time of 5:11.12
Over in the field events, senior
Adrionna Coleman took part in women's shot put. Coleman placed eighth with a distance of 12.90 meters.
Senior
Madison Boyd took part in the women's weight throw for GWU, and was scored in ninth place with a distance of 17.45 meters. Gardner-Webb teammate freshman
Hannah Hoffman was 12th in the event with 14.30 meters
Junior
Jonathan Timpson had one of the best afternoons for Gardner-Webb, finishing fourth in men's high jump. Timpson recorded a distance of 2.02 meters
Sophomore Magnum Chestnut took part in the men's shot put for the Runnin' Bulldogs. Chesnut was 10th with a distance of 14.82 meters
In men's weight throw,
Robert Joseph Jr. took part for Gardner-Webb. Joseph placed seventh with a mark of 18.21 meters. Jon Garrett placed 10th for GWU with a mark of 17.23 meters
Lastly, defending Big South Champion senior
Quentin Peterson competed and won the men's shot put. Peterson posted a mark of 18.73 meters for first place
