DAVIDSON, N.C. — Gardner-Webb earned a 4–1 victory over VCU on Saturday afternoon, picking up its fourth win of the season in a strong non-conference showing.

The Runnin' Bulldogs claimed the doubles point to open the match, setting the tone early. Boyd Schreiber and Kaua Cressoni secured an 8–6 win at No. 1 doubles, while Adam Patry and Noah Zeiger earned a forfeit victory at No. 3 to clinch the opening point.

Gardner-Webb carried the momentum into singles play, winning three matches to seal the team victory. Patry earned a forfeit win at No. 6 singles before Noah Zeiger followed with a dominant performance at No. 5, rolling to a 6–2, 6–1 victory over Alfred Almasi.

The match was clinched at No. 4 singles, where Johan Van Wijk picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win to secure the fourth and deciding point for the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Several matches were tightly contested before being halted once the team result was decided. Alexandre Bergeron and Nicolo Consonni were locked in a three-set battle at No. 1 singles, while Kaua Cressoni and Patrik Petera were also in the midst of a competitive match at No. 3.

With the win, Gardner-Webb improves to 4–1 on the season and will look to continue building momentum as the spring schedule moves forward. The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, February 18, traveling to take on Queens at 2 p.m.
