CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Gardner-Webb's Johan Van Wijk (Somerset West, South Africa) has been named the Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Noah Zeiger (Heildberg, Germany) was named the Freshman of the Week for matches played Feb. 9-15.
 
Van Wijk picked up a dominant 6-3, 6-3 straight-set win over Kostiantyn Mantach on the No. 4 singles court to clinch a 4-1 win for the Runnin' Bulldogs over preseason A10 favorite VCU.
 
Zeiger continued an impressive start to his collegiate career after earning a 6-2, 6-1 win over Alfred Almasi on the No. 5 court while helping guide Gardner-Webb to a 4-1 win over VCU.
