THE MATCH-UP: USC Upstate and Gardner-Webb meet in the return match-up in Spartanburg, having faced off in Boiling Springs in early January. Gardner-Webb rallied from 17 down in that contest, coming from behind to win 64-61 for a landmark victory in year one under Terri Williams

LAST TIME OUT: The Runnin' Bulldogs were unable to overturn a big early deficit on Saturday against league-leading High Point in a 83-53 loss. This brought an end to a five-game winning streak for GWU, it's longest since the 2022-23 season

THE SARA SHOW: In the Runnin' Bulldogs come from behind win on January 10th, freshman forward Sara Menendez was the game's most impactful player. Menendez scored 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting in just 15 minutes of action, including 3-of-4 from long range, nearly all of which came after halftime and during a huge third quarter

PRESS TO RUN: GWU was exceptional on defnese during its five-game winning streak. Over the last five games, the Runnin' Bulldogs allowed an astronomically low 53.2 points per game. This goes back to before the beginning of the winning streak as well, with the Dawgs having allowed more than 70 points only three times since the start of Big South play

AROUND THE LEAGUE: At 8-6 in the Big South, Gardner-Webb has locked up a top four seed in the Big South Tournament, thanks to a two-game lead over and tiebreaker over both 6-8 Charleston Southern and 6-8 Winthrop. Gardner-Webb does remain alive to finish as high as third, trailing 9-5 Longwood, who the Dawgs split with, by one game with two games remaining

REMAINING SCHEDULE: Following tonight's match-up with USC Upstate, Gardner-Webb will finish the regular season on Saturday, February 28th, at home against Radford. The 2026 Air Force Reserve Big South Tournament is set to begin on Thursday, March 7th in Johnson City, Tenn.
