
Davis Ends Remarkable Sophomore Season at NCAA Division I Nationals

CLEVELAND, OH - Redshirt sophomore T.K. Davis of the Gardner-Webb wrestling team saw his remarkable 2025-26 season come to an end on Friday evening in the consolation bracket at the 2026 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships
Back for day two after splitting day one action in Cleveland, Davis returned to the mat with an 8-3 decision over Gunner Andrick of West Virginia early on Friday. Davis did ultimately fall to 10 seed Max Leete of American University in the evening session, bringing his season to a close after a 2-2 run at nationals. Davis' two wins at nationals came against Andrick on Friday, and over Zan Fuggit of Wisconsin by a 4-1 decision on Thursday morning
For 2025-26, Davis posted one of the greatest seasons in Gardner-Webb history. The Rockmart, Ga. native finished with a remarkable 26-3 record at 133 pounds, including 21 consecutive wins between Thanksgiving and the second round of nationals. Davis also finished as the Southern Conference Wrestler of The Year, the first in Gardner-Webb history, while advancing deep at the NCAA Championships for the first time in his college career. Over the last two seasons, Davis holds a phenomenal individual record of 50-11 with appearances at the NCAA Championships at the end of each campaign
