| By:

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — Gardner-Webb men's tennis coach Mike Griffith has reached a major milestone in his tenure with the Runnin' Bulldogs, recording his 200th career victory while being a member of the Big South Conference following a win over Converse College on February 28.

Griffith, who has led the Runnin' Bulldogs since the program joined the Big South in 2009, has built one of the conference's most consistent and respected programs. His 200 overall victories reflect years of sustained success, player development, and competitiveness within one of the region's most challenging leagues.

Under Griffith's leadership, the Runnin' Bulldogs have consistently competed among the top teams in the conference, earning multiple postseason appearances and producing numerous All-Conference selections. His teams have been known for their depth, discipline, and strong doubles play as well as their ability to close out matches on the singles courts.

Griffith has led the Runnin' Bulldogs to back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in program history while recording a mark of 29-6 in conference play over the past six seasons. The team won its first ever Big South Tournament Championship during the 2025 season, capping a remarkable campaign while earning a bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Beyond the wins and accolades, Griffith's influence has extended far beyond the court. His players have excelled academically while representing Gardner-Webb with pride throughout their collegiate careers.
