SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate sponsored by Drip Golf with a final score of 881 (+17). The three-day, 54-hole event was being played at the Cutter Creek Golf playing 7,280 yards (par 72).
Senior Jack Boyer was the top finisher for the Runnin' Bulldogs with a 4-under par 210 (67-72-73) tied for fifth place overall. Sophomore Reed Burton (70-79-70) tied for 16th place after his first and third rounds went 2-under par.
Freshman Jude Carper (73-79-71) jumped 16 places, tying for 34th while junior Pattrasuth Boonthumrongkit carded a total combined score of 229 (72-88-69). Graduate Brandon Heffner (72-87-78) and junior Connor Key (77-86-75) rounded out the golfers for GWU, finishing in 79th and 83rd, respectively.
Campbell and Elon (855/9-under) both had the top team scores, but the Fighting Camels won the team title with due to playoff rules. Host East Carolina placed third followed by Harvard (874/10-over) and Fairleigh Dickerson (878/14-over) rounding out the Top 5.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will return to action on April 11-12 traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C. to take part in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate.
