HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb track and field team was in action at High Point on Thursday, taking part in day one of the annual VertKlasse Meeting
Among the top performers of the day was sophomore
Emily Leatherman. Competing in the women's 3000 meter steeplechase, Leatherman finished nine with a time of 12:13.83
Senior
Jessica Perriello was in action for GWU in the women's 5000 meters. Perriello completed the race with a time of 18:16.07, finishing eighth
Junior
Teandra Clemons continued an excellent individual season by winning the women's long jump. Clemons did so with an impressive mark of 6.13 meters
Competing in women's javelin for GWU was
Isa van Sintemaartensdijk. She'd post a mark of 38.74 meters to take eighth place in the event. Junior
Gracie Wilson also took part, finishing 18th with a mark of 33.06 meters
Senior
Robert Joseph Jr. took to the man's hammer throw for Gardner-Webb, finishing seventh place overall with an impressive mark of 50.26 meters
Fresh off breaking a school record last weekend, sophomore
Joshua Powell was back in action in the men's long jump. Powell followed his record-setting effort with a mark of 6.97 meters, good for second place
Freshman
Blaine Blose took part in the men's javelin throw for the Runnin' Bulldogs. Blose was fourth, posting a very solid mark of 60.79 meters. Sphomore
Cole Johnson also competed in the event, posting a mark of 52.60 meters to finish 10th
The Runnin' Bulldogs will return to action for day two of the VertKlasse Meeting on Friday, April 3rd
