Terry Earns Top-10 Finish, Gardner-Webb Finishes Seventh at ECU Ironwood Collegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's golf team finished seventh at the ECU Ironwood Collegiate, wrapping up play Tuesday at Ironwood Golf & Country Club. The Runnin' Bulldogs finished the tournament at 2-over par (866), carding rounds of 289 (+1), 295 (+7) and 282 (-6).
Sam Terry led Gardner-Webb individually, finishing tied for 10th after posting a four-under-par 68 in the final round. Terry carded a 34 on both the front and back nine to finish the tournament at four-under-par with a three-round score of 212. He also made an eagle-2 on the Par-4 14th hole.Â
Reed Burton (+2) and Jude Carper (+3) finished tied for 29th and 31st, respectively (+2), while Carper tied for 31st at 219 (+3).
Nick Goellner and Hank Johnson also tied for 31st, with each player finishing at 219 (+3). Goellner closed the tournament with an even-par 72, while Johnson also posted a 72 in the final round. Competing individually, Laddie Decker finished 86th with a three-round total of 247 (+31).
Host East Carolina won the tournament with a 7-under par total.
