Paul Porter Arena
Built in 1983, and renovated in 2008, the 2,993-seat Paul Porter Arena is located inside the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center on campus in Boiling Springs. Porter Arena is a versatile facility, offering locker rooms and meeting space for Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Volleyball, while serving as the main hub for the Department of Athletics. Within the convocation center also housed is an athletic training facility for student-athletes and the offices for Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Volleyball. Three auxiliary locker rooms for athletic officials and visiting teams.
A new Men’s Basketball locker room, film room and player lounge were completed in 2007, and a new court design was installed prior to the start of the 2008-09 season. Banners depicting Gardner-Webb’s monumental wins over the years and an area paying homage to former Gardner-Webb greats adorn the hallway leading to the playing floor. Gardner-Webb holds a tremendous home court advantage, with crowds annually among the conference’s best, and student support always high.
Women’s Basketball recently had their locker area renovated. The dressing area is fully furnished with individual lockers and provides the Runnin' Bulldogs with a spacious area for practice and game day activities. Just off the main locker room is a player’s lounge and study area to compliment the facility.
The Volleyball program recently had their locker area renovated. Located within the facility are individual mahogany lockers for each student-athlete as well as a film area for each player to hone the skills away from game day.
