Taylor Jackson is in her second year serving as a graduate assistant for the swimming program. No stranger to the program, Jackson was a standout member of the women's swimming team from 2002-2006.
Hailing from Sarasota, Florida, Jackson (nee Simpson) came to Gardner-Webb to swim for head coach and father Mike Simpson in 2002 with high expectations. The 2006 NEC Scholar Athlete of the Year was a three-time individual conference champion during her career at GWU, and became the first Runnin' Bulldog to earn 1st Team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America honors, doing so in both her junior and senior seasons. In her last year as a Runnin' Bulldog, Taylor also earned the GWU Senior Scholastic Award.
From 2008-2012, Jackson served as an assistant coach with Sharks Aquatic Club (Shelby, N.C.).
Born in Joliet, Illinois, she is the daughter of Mike and Kathi Simpson. She has three younger brothers: Saxon (swam at GWU 2007-2011), Logan (swam at GWU 2008-2010), and Garrett (currently swims for GWU).
Coach Jackson currently resides in Boiling Springs, N.C. with her husband, Mason, and their sons Liam and Rhys.
