Clare Alaimo enetrs her second academic year with Gardner-Webb as the Senior Associate Athletic Director and SWA following a successful stint at Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y. Alaimo served as Wagner's Associate Athletic Director for Compliance from June 2024 - October 2025. Clare was also in the role of Interim Senior Woman Administrator from June 2024 - October 2024. In total, Alaimo spent three years with Wagner.
Clare oversees nine varsity sports teams at Gardner-Webb including women's basketball, women's soccer, men's soccer, volleyball, softball, men's and women's golf, wrestling, and acrobatics and tumbling. She also manages business and administrative tasks for GWU athletics. Alaimo's responsibilities also include the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor as well as The Hidden Opponent (THO) Advisor.
During her time with the Seahawks, Alaimo served as the Senior Compliance Administrator for over 650 student-athletes that spanned 27 varsity sports. She was also the point person for NCAA reporting, Academic Progress Rate, Graduation Success, and Sport Sponsorship.
Alaimo helped to certify eligibility for the Wagner Athletic Deparment while also monitoring and managing financial aid for the department. She acted as the Sport Administrator for men's lacrosse, women's soccer, softball as well as men's and women's golf.
Clare completed internships within the athletic departments at Dominican College (2022) and LIU Post (2019). Alaimo is a member of the National Association for Athletic Compliance (NAAC)
A New York native, Alaimo was a four-year member of the Dominican College golf team, Alaimo was named captain in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Clare was also the President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee during the 2021-22 fiscal year before earning her Bachelor of Science in Education from DC. Alaimo obtained her Master of Business Administration from Wagner College.
