Dakota Staiger

Dakota Staiger is facilities coordinator for the Department of Athletics. He previously worked for the Asheville City Soccer Club as team operations coordinator and was responsible for coordinating with USL2 and USLW teams to ensure that practices and game days flowed effortlessly. 

His duties included directing set up and tear down for practice, ensuring all equipment was properly organized and maintained. He also managed preparation for home games while creating an atmosphere that allowed everyone involved to have a positive experience. He maintained and stocked locker rooms with the needs of both teams. He also made sure referees had proper communication and set up goals and corner flags for games. He set up sponsorships and tents around the field for vendors and staff.

He traveled with both the men’s and women’s teams to ensure all equipment was properly maintained, prepared meals for both teams, and found catering during away trips. He was also responsible for getting any necessities for the team and packing team uniforms.

His experience also includes serving Asheville City Soccer Club as a game operations intern. In 2022, he worked as a game operations apprentice for the Western Carolina Athletic Department. In this role, he was responsible for set up and tear down of all sponsorships, barriers, tents, tables, chairs, and locker rooms for both men’s and women’s teams. He also travelled with the teams for away games and made sure they had equipment, uniforms, snacks, and other necessities.

Staiger has a bachelor’s in sports management from Western Carolina University. His interests include snowboarding, music, sports, working out, traveling, fashion, TCG (Trading Card Game), comics, movies, and hanging out with friends.
