In 2023-2024, Wright enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Runnin' Bulldogs after spending the past two seasons as assistant cross country/track & field coach at Southern Wesleyan University.
Wright joined the Warriors as assistant coach in February of 2020, where he worked alongside current Gardner-Webb head coach Greg Thiel. Wright helped coach 24 student-athletes to All-Conference, two conference champions, and four in NCAA Provisional Qualifiers. He also volunteered with the track & field squad from 2017-2018 to develop the throws team, before serving as a strength and conditioning intern for SWU in the 2016-2017 season.
Prior to his coaching career, Wright competed with the Warriors from 2014-2017 in the long and triple jump, the 200, and the 400.
From 2018-2020, Wright spent time as a sales ambassador and strength & conditioning coach for PLAE, where he promoted, designed, and built athletic facilities around the country.
Wright graduated from Southern Wesleyan in December of 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science.
