After initially joining the Runnin' Bulldogs staff as a graduate assistant for the 2025-26 season, Vincent Scollo was promoted to assistant coach in June of 2026. Scollo arrived at Gardner-Webb for his first coaching role, fresh off a decorated college career at West Liberty University and at Davis & Elkins College.
During his freshman season at Davis & Elkins in 2019-20, Scollo immediately broke on to the scene as an NCAA DII Super Regional Qualifier, earning All-MEC Honorable Mention honors with a third place finish at that year's championship meet. He followed that up in 2020-21 with a fourth place finish at MEC Championships and another Super Regional appearance. Scollo then broke through with an impressive 2021-22 season, going 24-8 at 133, winning a MEC individual title, finishing third at Super Regionals, and qualifying for his first NCAA Championships.
After transferring to West Liberty for the 2022-23 season, Scollo continued an impressive run going 26-9 with 13 bonus point wins at 133. He was selected to the MEC Commissioner's Honor Roll, was the runner-up at NCAA Super Regionals, and placed sixth overall at the NCAA DII National Championships, earning All-American recognition.
A native of Jackson, New Jersey, Scollo started his wrestling career with an impressive prep run at Jackson Memorial High School. He was a 2018 state district champion, 2019 region champion, and placed seventh in the 2018 NJSIAA state tournament finals.
