
CCSA Announces Conference Championship Site

The Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA)
announced today that the Swimming and Diving Championships will be
held at The University of Georgia's Gabrielsen Natatorium in
Athens, Ga., on Feb. 19-21, 2009.
"Our inaugural Championships were a great success last year,
including tremendous fan support. We feel that moving to a facility
the size and caliber of Georgia's Gabrielsen Natatorium will be a
great fit for the CCSA," said Ted Gumbart, Executive Director of
the CCSA. "It reflects on the high quality of our student-athlete
swimmers and divers and will provide an outstanding Championship
setting for the teams and their fans."
The inaugural CCSA Championship meet was held Feb. 21-23, 2008 at
the Huntersville Aquatic Center in Huntersville, N.C. where the
College of Charleston men's team and Davidson women's team claimed
the 2008 CCSA Champion titles.
The CCSA was officially formed July 10, 2007 through cooperative
efforts of the coaches, administrators and commissioners of the
four Leagues that comprise the CCSA. The charter members of the
CCSA in women's swimming are Campbell (A-Sun), College of
Charleston (SoCon), Davidson (SoCon), Florida A&M (MEAC),
Florida Gulf Coast (A-Sun), Gardner-Webb (Big South), Georgia
Southern (SoCon), Howard (MEAC), North Carolina A&T (MEAC),
North Florida (A-Sun), Radford (Big South) and VMI (Big South). The
six schools that comprise the CCSA men's swimming members are
College of Charleston (SoCon), Davidson (SoCon), Florida A&M
(MEAC), Gardner-Webb (Big South), Howard (MEAC) and VMI (Big
South).
