
Wilson Swims Personal-Best Time In 100m Free

OMAHA, Neb. Former Gardner-Webb swimmer Terra Wilson touched the wall in a personal-best time of 55.66 Thursday afternoon in the 100m free qualifying round at the Olympic Trials. However, the time left her just outside the top 16, which qualified for the semifinals.
At the 50m turn, Wilson touched the wall in 26.99, which was the 20th-best mark through the midway point. However, she came home in 28.67, putting her in 22nd place overall.
Her time was 2.02 seconds off the top mark in the qualifying round, which went to the United States record holder Natalie Coughlin with a time of 53.64.
Wilson also competed in the 200m free event earlier in the week.
While at Gardner-Webb, Wilson earned All-America honors in the
200m free in 2007. That same season, she picked up
honorable-mention All-America accolades in the 100 free. In 2006,
Wilson also earned honorable-mention All-American honors in the 200
free.
