Gardner-Webb Women's Soccer Earns 10th Win Of Season Over Blue Hose 2-0 Friday Evening

BOILING SPRINGS, NC- The Gardner-Webb women's soccer team earned its 10th overall victory of the 2009 season Friday night as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Presbyterian by a 2-0 score Friday evening at Greene-Harbison Field.
The Lady Bulldogs took the lead in the second minute of the match, when junior Sarah Keyser was able to find the back of the net following a corner kick by sophomore Megan Tremblay, which was headed by senior Kasey Gladhill to Keyser. The second goal of the match was scored in the 41st minute when sophomore Tina Frost was able to head a shot past Blue Hose goalkeeper Abby Young following a crossing pass by Gladhill.
Gardner-Webb dominated the match statistically, outpacing Presbyterian with shots on goal at a 10-1 margin, and the corner kick margin being 8-1 in Gardner-Webb's favor.
Gardner-Webb improves to 10-7-0 overall and 4-2-0 in Big South Conference play, while Presbyterian drops to 3-10-1 overall and 0-5-1 in conference play.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action this Sunday afternoon as they host UNC Asheville on what will be Senior Day. The match is set to take place at 2:00 PM at Greene-Harbison Field.
