GWU's Reed and Steinke Set New Personal Best as Four Bulldogs Compete at 2009 Georgia Tech Invitational

Atlanta, Ga. – Gardner-Webb sophomore Adam Reed and junior Paul Steinke both turned in new personal bests in their respective events this weekend, as four GWU track and field student-athletes competed at the 2009 Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia.
On Friday afternoon, Reed competed in the men's pole vault event, turning in an eighth-place finish with a new personal best mark of 4.60 meters.
GWU redshirt-freshman Christoph Hutschalik also competed on Friday afternoon, taking 11th-place overall in the men's hammer throw event with a heave of 50.96 meters.
Despite the rain which caused a delay on Saturday, senior Kelly Bridges finished tied for ninth-place in the women's pole vault event, clearing the bar at a height of 3.55 meters.
Steinke took seventh-place overall in the 400 meter hurdles on Saturday, crossing the finish line with an NCAA Regional qualifying and new personal best time of 51.56.
Both Steinke and Hutschalik will next compete at the NCAA East Regional meet on May 29-30.
