Lady Bulldogs Suffer Double Overtime Loss To Chattanooga 1-0

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- In what was a very physical match Friday night at Greene-Harbison Field, the Gardner-Webb women's soccer team experienced a heart-breaking double overtime loss to Chattanooga after the Lady Mocs scored the lone goal of the game off of a free kick.
The game was intense throughout all periods, with great performances by both squad's goalkeepers, but Chattanooga (3-0-0) freshman Becca Smith was able to find the back of the net on a free kick after both sophomore Donna-Kay Henry for the Lady Mocs and Gardner-Webb senior Brooke Bull received yellow cards on a very physical play.
Freshman goalkeeper Samantha Rupert was able to stove off the offensive attack by the Lady Mocs until the second overtime, recording six saves before allowing the game winning goal.
Gardner-Webb (3-4-0) returns to action Sunday as they take on South Carolina State (2-3-0) at 4:00 PM at Greene-Harbison Field.
