Gardner-Webb's Kim Zachensky Named CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb sophomore Kim Zachensky (Marietta, Ga.) has been selected as the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Women's Swimmer of the Week, for meets completed Nov. 15-21, it was announced today by the League.
Zachensky shattered the CCSA and Gardner-Webb school records and made the NCAA "B" Cut in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events at the Georgia Tech Invitational last weekend. Zachensky clocked a 1:01.99 for a second-place finish in the 100 breast, and a 2:14.72 for a fourth-place finish in the 200 breast in a meet versus Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Clemson, North Carolina State, Michigan State, Air Force and Florida Gulf Coast. She is also ranked 26th and 27th nationally in 100 and 200 breaststroke events, respectively.
Zachensky is the first Gardner-Webb women's swimmer to receive honors this season.
Also nominated for Women's Swimmer of the Week for Week 8: Cherisse Campbell (Campbell), Sarah Boyle (College of Charleston), Leah Daniel (Florida Gulf Coast), Courtney Harrison (Georgia Southern), Brye Ravettine (Liberty) and Colleen Miller (Radford).
Gardner-Webb returns to action from December 2nd-4th as they participate in the Short Course Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.
