
Runnin' Bulldogs Defeat VMI 127-76 In The Pool Saturday Afternoon

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Gardner-Webb men's swim team faced off against VMI Saturday afternoon, with eleven different members of the squad leading the Runnin' Bulldogs to wins in eight of the eleven events to earn the overall victory.
Freshman Jordan Denmark led the way for the Runnin' Bulldogs, earning victories in three events. He timed fastest in the 100 yard butterfly event at 53.05, the 100 yard breaststroke event at 1:02.54, and part of the 200 yard freestyle team that timed in at 1:30.13.
Action began with the 200 yard medley relay event, with the team of Samuel Woods, Drew Ellwanger, Matthew Leonard, and Clayton Vickers timing in at 1:39.56 to claim the victory.
Woods was the only other Runnin' Bulldog to earn multiple victories Saturday, also claiming first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:02.03.
Adam Suggs took the victory in the 100 yard freestyle event, touching the wall at 10:20.38.
Tyler Nuss timed in first in the 200 yard freestyle event at 1:48.67.
Kevin Koenig earned first place in the 100 yard backstroke event, timing in at 55.12.
The event concluded with the 200 yard medley relay event, with the team of Casey Brutus, Collin Burchins, Steven Caudill, and Denmark t winning with a time of 1:30.13.
Gardner-Webb will next be in action at the 2010 Georgia Tech Invitational, taking place from Friday, November 19th through Sunday, November 21st in Atlanta, Ga.
