
GWU Women's Basketball to Host NCCU on Tuesday Night at 6 p.m.

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team returns home for the first time since November 15th and only the second time thus far this season on Tuesday night to host the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central at 6 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
Gardner-Webb has won three straight games after dropping three straight contests for the first time since 2008-09.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off a 68-58 road win at Longwood, which ended a six-game road trip in which the Runnin' Bulldogs went 3-3.
Since the Runnin' Bulldogs played at home last on November 15th, senior guard Dominique Hudson has eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark, while head coach Rick Reeves has since won his 100th career game while at GWU and become the all-time career wins leader in GWU women's basketball 36 year history.
Gardner-Webb has posted a stellar 26-4 home record dating back to 2008-09 and are led by the senior guard duo of Monique Hudson, who is averaging 14.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, and Dominique Hudson, who is averaging 12.0 points and 5.3 assists per game.
Fellow senior Sandra Vaitkute is averaging 10.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest down low for GWU this season, while senior forward LaTroya Pope, who is averaging a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game, is only one rebound away from career rebound 500.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are 2-0 versus the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central having defeated N.C. Central 73-60 in 2008-09 and 66-55 last year, 2009-10.
N.C. Central is 1-6 on the season this year with the lone win coming at home against Big South member Presbyterian College, 43-38, on November 20th.
Jori Nwachukwu, who is averaging a team-high 14.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, and Chasidy Williams, who is pouring in 10.6 points per game, lead the Lady Eagles.
Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
Prior to the 6 p.m. tip-off there will be a special presentation to recognize Dominique Hudson for becoming only the 15th player in GWU women's basketball history to join the 1,000-point club and coach Reeves for becoming GWU's career wins leader.
