
GWU's Thompson and Hutschalik Set New School Records at Georgia Tech Invitational

Atlanta, Ga. - Gardner-Webb throwers Brie Thompson and Christoph Hutschalik both set school records this past weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational hosted by Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, Ga.
Thompson, a senior on the women's team, set a new school record and personal mark in the women's hammer throw event, turning in a distance of 51.25 meters (168'2"), which placed her in eighth-place overall.
Hutschalik, a redshirt-sophomore on the men's side, surpassed his old record of 58.70 meters (192'7") in the hammer throw this weekend, turning in a mark of 59.05 meters (193'9") to place 11th overall.
Freshman distance runner Josiah Stanton-Brooks crossed the finish line in 38th-place overall in the men's 800 meter run with his time of 1:53.41, while junior Johnathon Rucker finished in 48th-place with a time of 15.46 in the men's 110 meter hurdles event.
