
Four GWU Swimmers to Compete at 2011 AT&T Winter National Championships December 1-3 in Atlanta, Ga.

Boiling Springs, N.C. - For four Gardner-Webb swimmers, USS Nationals represents an important competition as the Runnin' Bulldogs enter their winter training season with February's CCSA Championships looming on the horizon.
Freshman Charity Byrum (Winston-Salem, N.C.), who currently holds the CCSA's second fastest time in the 100 and 200 BR as well as the 200 IM, will swim the 100 BR. Byrum, who won three individual events at GWU's most recent meet at the Wingate Fall Frenzy, set a season best time of 1:03.65 in Charlotte.
Sophomore Jordan Denmark (Raleigh, N.C.) will compete in the 100 and 200 BK. Denmark is top five in both backstroke events, ranking fourth (51.92) and second (1:54.20) in the respective events within the CCSA.
Junior Drew Ellwanger (Newborn, Ga.) ranks first and second in the CCSA in the 100 and 200 BR respectively and will swim the 100 BR at USS Nationals. Ellwanger will look to improve his personal best time of 56.40, set this season at the Wingate Fall Frenzy.
Senior Collin Burchins (Lilburn, Ga.), third in the CCSA in the 200 BR and fourth in the 100 BR, will compete in the 100 BR in Atlanta. Burchins recorded a season best time of 59.85 in the 100 BR at the Wingate Fall Frenzy.
The meet will be held on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta Ga. with competition beginning Thursday Dec. 1 and concluding Saturday Dec. 3.
