
Runnin' Bulldogs Indoor Track & Field Posts 13 Top-15 Finishes at Tiger Paw Invitational

Clemson, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb indoor track & field team posted 13 top-15 finishes and 12 personal best marks this weekend at the Tiger Paw Invitational hosted by Clemson University in Clemson, S.C.
On the men's side, redshirt-senior Christoph Hutschalik placed fifth overall in the men's weight throw invitational event, turning in a mark of 18.45 meters (60'06.50).
Gardner-Webb junior Travis Rogers took fourth-place overall in the men's weight throw event, turning in a distance of 16.78 meters (55'0.75"), a new personal best mark, while freshman Carson Sears placed sixth overall in the event with a toss of 16.47 meters (54'0.50"). Sears also picked up a ninth-place finish in the shot put event with a new personal best mark of 14.77 meters (48'5.50").
Senior Johnathan Rucker placed in eighth-place overall in the 60 meter hurdles, crossing the finish line with a time of 8.18 in the finals, a new personal best mark, while fellow sprinter Johnathan Parks turned in a ninth-place finish in the 200 meter dash with his time of 22.74.
In the 400 meter dash, senior Evan Brusich crossed the finish line in 14th-place overall, turning in a finals time of 51.37.
Sophomore Bo Miller set a new personal best time of 7.07 in the 60 meter dash preliminaries, while Brusich and Parks each set personal best marks in the 60 meter hurdles with times of 8.45 and 8.46, respectively.
On the women's side, sophomore Ashlei Alexander took second-place overall in the women's shot put event, turning in a throw of 12.90 meters (42'04), and finished in seventh-place in the weight throw event with a new personal best distance of 15.34 meters (50'4").
Junior Sarah Herd took fourth-place overall in the high jump event, clearing the bar at 1.60 meters (5'3"), while in the women's pole vault event, GWU's Ann Marie Howell finished in a three-way tie for fifth-place with a height of 3.30 meters (10'10").
Sophomore Taylor Cook placed in a five-way tie for eighth-place overall in the women's pole vault event with a mark of 3.15 meters (10'4"), while fellow teammate and classmate Bethany Wright finished in an eight-way tie for 13th-place with her height of 3.00 meters (9'10), a new personal best mark.
Freshman T'Keyah Bell set a new personal best time of 8.21 in the 60 meter dash preliminaries, while fellow newcomer Kristen Hurley set a personal best record of 9.66 in the 60 meter hurdle preliminaries.
In the 200 meter dash, GWU's Katy Milton and Ashley Slate each posted personal best times, as Milton crossed the finish line with a time of 27.74, while Slate finished with a time of 29.14.
Gardner-Webb will return to competition next Friday, February 18th, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will travel to Boone, N.C. to take part in the Appalachian Pre-Conference Meet hosted by Appalachian State University.
