
GWU Softball To Host PC on Tuesday Afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs will host the Presbyterian College Blue Hose in a single Big South Conference game on Tuesday afternoon, April 5th, at 3:30 p.m. at Varsity Field in Boiling Springs, N.C.
Tuesday afternoon's contest between Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian is the rubber match of the three-game conference series as the two teams split a doubleheader back on March 24th in Clinton, S.C. PC won game one 5-0, while Gardner-Webb bounced back to take game two 3-2.
Gardner-Webb bounced back from two shutout losses on Saturday afternoon to defeat Radford 3-2 in nine innings on Sunday, snapping a 10-game losing streak to the Highlanders. GWU freshman Jessica Childers got the complete game win, holding Radford to only two runs on four hits over nine innings, while senior Kelsey Witter provided the heroics with a one-out RBI single in the ninth to give GWU the 3-2 win.
GWU is 10-17 overall and 2-3 in the Big South thus far this season. The Runnin' Bulldogs, who are 3-2 at home thus far this season, have won six games by only one run, including both of their Big South Conference wins.
Offensively, the Runnin' Bulldogs have been led by its lead-off hitter Samantha Meenaghan, who is hitting .330 with a team high-15 runs scored, and redshirt-freshman Morgan Baker, who is hitting .319 with a team-high 15 RBIs on the year. Junior designated player Lindsea Hutchinson has driven in 12 RBIs on 13 hits thus far this season, while fellow classmate McKenzie Morenus has ripped a team-high eight doubles on the year.
The Presbyterian College Blue Hose are 18-7-1 overall on the season and 5-2 in the Big South. The Blue Hose are coming off a weekend in which they went 2-1 in road conference action at Charleston Southern, pushing PC to 7-3 overall in their last 10 games. The Blue Hose have been strong on the road this season, as PC is 7-2-1 overall in road contests on the year.
PC has five players hitting over .300 on the season and four players in Amanda Miller, Codee Yeske, Leslie Hensley and Morgan Durham who have all driven in more than 10 runs so far this season. In the circle, the Blue Hose have followed Hensley's lead, as the junior is 12-3 overall on the season with nine complete games and five shutouts.
