CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs finished the Big South Conference regular season slate with a 6-12 record, giving them the No. 6 seed overall at next week's 2011 Big South Championship presented by Musco Lighting. All games of the tournament will be played on the campus of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C.

The Radford Highlanders posted a 14-4 record in Big South play to earn the Big South regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed in the 2011 Big South Softball Championship.

Liberty came in at the No. 2 seed as it finished the season with an 11-7 mark in Conference play. Presbyterian College and Charleston Southern each posted identical 10-8 records in the League. The Blue Hose won the regular-season series with the Lady Bucs to break the tie and earn the No. 3 slot, as Coastal Carolina posted a 7-11 record in the Big South to land in the No. 5 position. Winthrop rounds out the seeds as it garnered the No. 7 seed with a 5-13 Conference record.

The 2011 Softball Championship begins Thursday, May 12th, with six games scheduled and continues with bracket play through May 14th. The Big South Championship game on May 14th will air live on ESPN3.com. The Big South's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Softball Tournament.
