GWU Volleyball to Play Two Key Conference Road Contests this Weekend at Campbell and High Point

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Runnin' Bulldogs, who are coming off two straight home losses last weekend, will look to get back on the winning track this week as GWU will hit the road for two pivotal Big South Conference matches at Campbell and High Point this weekend.
Gardner-Webb is slated to take on the Fighting Camels of Campbell on Friday night, October 26th, at 7 p.m. in Buies Creek, N.C., and then will travel to High Point, N.C. for a showdown with the High Point Panthers on Saturday afternoon, October 27th, at 4 p.m.
Gardner-Webb (8-17, 3-5 Big South) is still looking to climb up in the very tight regular season standings, as the Runnin' Bulldogs are less than two games out of fourth-place overall.
However, the Runnin' Bulldogs will have to snap a current two match losing streak on the road, where Gardner-Webb is only 1-7 this season and 3-17 overall over the last two years. In fact, since joining the Big South in 2008, Gardner-Webb has struggled mightily in conference road contests, posting a 4-30 overall record in Big South road matches.
Campbell (7-18, 0-8 Big South) is still searching for its first conference win of the year, as the Fighting Camels have dropped seven-straight matches with its last win coming over N.C. A&T back on Sept. 22nd.
However, the Fighting Camels, who are 2-3 at home thus far this season, have six players with 100 kills or more this season led by Jessica Groen (184) and Lindsey Coats (180).
GWU is 3-4 versus the Fighting Camels in volleyball since 2000 with Campbell defeating GWU 3-2 last year in the two teams' only meeting.
High Point (16-8, 5-3 Big South), who will host UNC Asheville on Friday night, has posted two straight wins with conference victories over Presbyterian and Campbell.
The Panthers are 6-2 at home in the Millis Center this season, including wins over Wake Forest and UNC Greensboro, and are led by Courtney Johnk who has a team-high 322 kills on the season and just recently reached the 1,000 career kills mark last week.
GWU, who is only 3-11 versus the Panthers since 2000, will look to make it two wins over High Point having defeated the Panthers 3-1 at home in Paul Porter Arena last season.
