GWU Women's Swimming Readies for Season Opener at the N.C. College Invitational in Greensboro

Boiling Springs, N.C. - Gardner-Webb's women's swim team will compete in its first NCAA sanctioned competition of the season this weekend, October 5-6, at the North Carolina College Invitational in Greensboro, N.C., hosted by N.C. State.
All sessions of the two-day event will feature timed finals.
The inaugural event will feature a unique opportunity for Gardner-Webb swimming to compete among the state's premier teams, with schools from across North Carolina competing.
After competing at the Western Carolina Open Water Challenge in mid-September, GWU women's swimming will look to get their official 2012-13 competition season off to a quick start at the Friday-Saturday meet.
"Everyone is chomping at the bit to compete," said Head Coach Mike Simpson. "They are tired of just practicing and are ready for a meet.
This particular meet is brand new, and it will be fun to compete against all the other colleges in the state."
The N.C. College Invitational gets underway during Friday's evening session, set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday's morning session is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. with the third and final session following Saturday evening.
