Denmark Named CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week

Charlotte, N.C. - Gardner-Webb's Jordan Denmark (Raleigh, N.C.) has been selected as the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets competed Oct. 29-Nov. 4, the League announced today.
Denmark led Gardner-Webb to a third-place showing at the Wingate Quad Meet. The junior from Raleigh, N.C. won the 200-yard IM in a season-best time of 1:53.12. He then finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.67, and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 58.85. Denmark was also a member of the third-place 200-yard medley relay, third-place 400-yard medley relay and fourth-place 400-yard freestyle relay.
The honor, Denmark's third in his career, also marks the second time this season that a GWU swimmer has earned a Swimmer of the Week nod from the CCSA. Freshman Giorgie Graves (Riverview, Fla.) was named the Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Oct. 1-7.
Both Gardner-Webb's men's and women's swim teams compete at the Wingate Fall Frenzy for their final competition this Fall. The meet will take place in Charlotte, N.C. on Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18.
