McClay's Career Best 10K Time Leads Runnin' Bulldogs at NCAA Southeast Regional Championships

Charlotte, N.C. - Mike McClay recorded a personal best time in the 10K run to lead three Gardner-Webb cross country runners who competed at Friday's 2012 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships, hosted by the Charlotte 49ers at McAlpine Park.
Senior Ariel Zimmerman represented the Runnin' Bulldogs in the women's 6K. The veteran runner from Williamsburg, Va. finished the 6K course at McAlpine in 25:35.01 during Friday's race.
For the men, McClay, a junior from Lawrenceville, Ga., knocked 20 seconds off of his time at last year's Southeast Regional meet to establish a new personal best in the 10K during Friday's meet. McClay finished the 10K course at McAlpine in 34:13.91.
Justin Loy (Burrington, N.H.) recorded the second fastest time of the day for the Runnin' Bulldog men. The junior timed in at 36:51.95 to round out GWU's competitors at the 2012 version of NCAA Southeast Regional Championships.
