
Runnin' Bulldogs Beaten By Radford at Home in Big South Opener Sunday

Boiling Springs, N.C. - Gardner-Webb men's tennis had a rough outing against the defending Big South Champion Radford Highlanders, falling 0-7 at home Sunday.
GWU is now 2-7 this season.
The 2011 Big South Champion Highlanders jumped to a 1-0 lead after taking all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the match.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were unable to get the momentum swinging in their favor, failing to reach the third set in all singles matches but at No. 3. Freshman Ernest Alberch (Torello, Spain) battled to force a tiebreak against Radford senior Igor Ogrizek, but came up short in dropping a 6-0, 5-7 (11-9) decision.
Gardner-Webb's second match of the day against Spartanburg Methodist was cancelled.
GWU hits the courts again this Tuesday when the Runnin' Bulldogs host Wofford. The February 28 match is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start time.
