Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's soccer team will look to remain unbeaten at home this season, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will host the Longwood Lancers on Alumni Weekend, this Saturday, October 12th, at 5 p.m. at Greene-Harbison Field.
The Runnin' Bulldogs went 0-1-1 overall last week to move to 4-5-1 on the season and 1-2-0 in conference play, as GWU suffered a 2-1 overtime road loss at Radford last Saturday night.
The overtime loss to Radford put GWU at 2-1-1 in overtime matches this season.
Gardner-Webb has gone winless over its last four matches (0-3-1) after posting back-to-back wins over Liberty and at Mercer in mid-September.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are only 1-2-1 on the year when scoring only one goal for the match.
Junior forward Denzel Clarke, who leads GWU with seven goals on the season, is ranked 12th in the nation in total goals (7) and 19th overall in goals per game (0.70), while defensively, freshman goalkeeper Matthew Swan, who has started in goal for GWU in every match thus far this season, is ranked ninth in the country in total saves (54) and 15th overall in saves per game (5.40).
