Cranfill Honored By College Football Performance Awards

Cranfill (Sherrill's Ford, N.C. / Bandys HS) was included on the organization's Tight End Performer of the Year Watch List in July and has recovered from an early season injury to settle back into his role as a key target in Gardner-Webb's passing attack.
Against Liberty, Cranfill caught four passes for 41 yards, with a career-long 31-yard reception going for a first down on Gardner-Webb's first offensive snap of the game.
The 6-foot-4, 239-pound redshirt junior has caught 13 passes for 100 yards so far in 2013, giving him 50 for his career. That career total ranks Cranfill third in school history for his position, just nine behind the No. 2 spot - held currently by Josh Miller (2007-2010).
Jason Bright (1999-2002) is the program's career leader in tight end receptions, hauling in 80 for 1,050 yards and eight touchdowns during his All-Conference career in Boiling Springs.
Gardner-Webb (4-4) will look to snap a three-game losing streak this Saturday, when it hosts NAIA member Warner (Fla.) at 1:30 pm in Ernest W. Spangler Stadium. The game will air live on the Big South Network (bigsouthsports.com) and on WGWG-FM (88.3 / wgwg.org).
