
Gardner-Webb Volleyball Welcomes Campbell and High Point to Paul Porter Arena This Weekend

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Runnin' Bulldogs will welcome both Campbell and High Point to Paul Porter Arena this week, as Gardner-Webb will hold "Pack the House Night" on Friday night, November 1st, at 7 p.m. versus Campbell and then a "Black Out" on Saturday night, November 2nd, at 5 p.m. against High Point.
The Runnin' Bulldogs improved to 14-12 overall and 5-3 in the Big South with a two-match split at 1-1 last week. The Runnin' Bulldogs are 6-1 at home this season in Paul Porter Arena.
GWU's five Big South Conference wins thus far this season ties GWU's NCAA Division I record for the most conference wins in a single season with the 2011 team (5 in the Big South) and 2007 team (5 in the Atlantic Sun).
Gardner-Webb's 14 overall wins ties the program's Division I record for the most wins in a single season, matching the 2007 team (14-18), the 2006 team (14-18), the 2001 team (14-18) and the 2000 team (14-16).
Senior outside hitter Erin Anderson tallied a career-high 23 kills in the Runnin' Bulldogs' 3-1 win over Charleston Southern on Thursday night to post GWU's 14th overall win and fifth conference win of the season.
GWU libero Anna Pashkova's 32 digs on the week pushed her season total to 517 on the season which puts her only 25 digs away from the Gardner-Webb Division I single-season record of 541 digs set by Katie Matykowski in 2007. Pashkova is also only 56 digs away from the 1,000 career digs mark, as she is only a sophomore at GWU this season.
Junior setter Heather Feldman recorded 58 set assists on the week to increase her season total to 992 on the season, which is only eight shy of 1,000 and 356 assists away from the GWU DI single-season record of 1,348 set by Regina Feagin in 2007.
The Fighting Camels of Campbell University are 13-12 overall and 3-5 in the Big South. Campbell is coming off a 3-1 loss at home versus High Point, but has won two of its last three matches.
The Fighting Camels, who are 4-4 in true road matches on the year, have four players with over 200 kills led by Jessica Groen's team-high 268 spikes and Alexis Hein's 237 kills.
The Panthers of High Point enter play this week as 11-12 overall and are tied with Gardner-Webb in third-place overall in the Big South at 5-3.
High Point, who will take on UNC Asheville on the road on Friday night, is 4-3 on the road overall this season and is coming off a 3-1 road win at Campbell last week.
Chelsea Davis leads the Panthers offense with her team-high 355 kills, while setter Maddie Simpson has tallied 740 set assists on the year.
