
GWU Softball Recognized as a 2012-13 NFCA Division I All-Academic Team

Louisville, Ky. - In what has become a yearly occurrence for the Gardner-Webb softball team, head coach Tom Cole and his squad was once again recognized as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-Academic Team for the 2012-13 academic year, it was announced on October 7th.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were one of 160 NCAA Division I softball programs to be named as an NFCA Division I All-Academic Team, as Gardner-Webb posted a team grade point average of 3.379 over the 2012-13 academic year.
In addition to receiving academic team honors, the Runnin' Bulldogs had eight student-athletes tabbed as NFCA Division I All-America Scholar-Athletes.
GWU's Alyssa Gutierrez, Ashley Rhyne, Brittney Morrow, Elizabeth Williams, Jill Blank, Jordyn Arrowood, Melinda Dulkowski and Savannah Burns all earned NFCA Division I All-America Scholar-Athlete accolade, as all posted a grade point average of 3.50 or better over the 2012-13 academic calendar.
The 2012-13 team marks the 14th straight season in which the Runnin' Bulldogs have been recognized as an NFCA All-Academic Team.
