Gardner-Webb Signs Guard David Efianayi To National Letter of Intent

BOILING SPRINGS - Gardner-Webb signed Ocoee (Fla.) High guard David Efianayi to a National Letter of Intent Thursday morning as part of the early signing period.
Efianayi was an honorable mention All-County selection as a junior by the Orlando Sentinel and is rated as the No. 27 prospect in Florida for the Class of 2014 by Source Hoops.
"We are thrilled about David joining the Gardner-Webb family," said Gardner-Webb head coach Tim Craft. "He is an ultra-athletic combo guard with excellent size and speed. He has the ability to score and facilitate. His upside is outstanding. "
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder averaged 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in 2012-2013, and averaged nearly two steals per game defensively. A solid penetrator, Efianayi went to the free throw line 127 times, making 99 of those attempts (78 percent).
He chose Gardner-Webb over North Florida, IPFW, UT-Martin and North Carolina Central.
