
Starr, Feldman Earn Big South Conference Postseason Honors

GWU opens the Big South Conference Tournament Thursday at noon as the No. 8 seed, battling top-seed Radford in Clinton, S.C. (Big South Network).
Starr (Blue Springs, Mo. / Blue Springs HS ) enjoyed a solid first season on the college court, playing in 102 sets and finishing the regular season with 243 kills (2.38 per set), 275 digs and 20 total blocks. Starr also led the team with 27 service aces.
Starr ranked third on the team in kills and kills per game during the 2013 regular season, and was the lone Gardner-Webb freshman to log action in at least 100 sets.
Feldman (Eden, N.Y. / Eden HS ) finished the regular season with 1,213 assists (10.02 per set), hit a team-high .292 and finished with 20 service aces, 275 digs and 39 total blocks. One of the league's most consistent setters, Feldman ranked third in the Big South in assists.
She was named first-team Capital One Academic All-District III earlier this month, and carries a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA in her music major.
