
Runnin' Bulldogs to Face-Off with the Aggies and Buccaneers This Week in Softball Action

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Runnin' Bulldogs will wrap up both its non-conference slate and its road current 10-game road trip this week, as the Gardner-Webb softball team will take on both North Carolina A&T and Charleston Southern on the road in softball action.
GAME TIMES
Gardner-Webb will step out of Big South Conference play one final time in 2013, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will take on the North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies in a twin bill on Tuesday, April 16th, at 2 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will then wrap up its road season on Saturday and Sunday when GWU will take on the Charleston Southern Buccaneers for a three-game weekend conference series in Charleston, S.C. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 20th, at 2 p.m. and then will wrap up the series with a single game on Sunday, April 21st, at 1 p.m.
GWU'S CHILDERS NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK (4/15)
Jessica Childers had a strong week in the circle for GWU last week, as she went 1-1 overall in three appearances for the Runnin' Bulldogs. Childers opened the week up with a complete game shutout win at Presbyterian, in which she allowed only three hits and two walks, while striking out two in the 2-0 win. The junior then followed with a solid outing in game two of the twin bill at Liberty on Friday night, as she held the Lady Flames to only three runs, two of which were earned, on eight hits and one walk, while striking out two in a tough 3-1 loss. Childers finished the week with a 1.06 ERA over 13.1 innings of work, allowing only two earned runs over her three appearances.
MEENAGHAN ON A TEAR
Junior Samantha Meenaghan has been on a tear over the last few weeks at the plate for GWU, as the lead-off hitter has hit safely in each of the last 11 games for the Runnin' Bulldogs. Over that span, she has hit .512 (22-of-43) with two home runs, two triples, one double, nine RBIs and nine runs scored.
SWINGING THE BAT WELL
The Runnin' Bulldogs have been swinging the bats well over their last eight games, as GWU is hitting .279 as a team. GWU has four players hitting over .300 over its last eight games, highlighted by Taylar Pridgen, who is hitting .500, and Samantha Meenaghan, who is hitting .455, during that span.
LESS THAN TWO RUNS ALLOWED, GOOD SIGN FOR GWU
The Runnin' Bulldogs are 5-1 overall on the season when they have held their opponents to two runs or less in the contest. On the flip side, GWU is 2-26 when surrendering three runs or more in a game.
ON DECK FOR THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
Gardner-Webb will return home to host the Radford Highlanders in the Runnin' Bulldogs final regular season contests on April 27 & 28th in Boiling Springs, N.C. The Runnin' Bulldogs will hold Senior Day on April 27th prior to the doubleheader which is slated for a 1 p.m. start time.
