BOILING SPRINGS --- Gardner-Webb junior forward Jerome Hill (Adel, Ga.) was named the College Sports Madness Big South Player of the Week Monday after pouring in a career-high 32 points against Brevard on Saturday.
Hill is the second Gardner-Webb player in as many weeks to earn weekly honors from College Sports Madness, joining last week's winner Tyler Strange (Leominster, Mass.). The 6-foot-5, 225-pound forward opened the week with his second double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds against Old Dominion on the final night of the Paradise Jam.
The College Sports Madness Preseason Big South All-Conference honoree capped the week in style, leading all scorers with a career-high 32 points on 13-of-18 shooting while pulling down eight rebounds in the 78-63 win over Brevard. Hill currently leads the team in both scoring (18.5) and rebounding (8.0), scoring in double figures in each of the Runnin' Bulldogs' first six games.
Gardner-Webb is back in action on Tuesday in Tucson, Ariz., taking on national power #3/4 Arizona at 7:00 pm Mountain Time. The game will air live on the Pac-12 Network.
