
Tyler Samotis Earns Big South Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) - Gardner-Webb's Tyler Samotis was tabbed the Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the League announced on Wednesday.
Samotis, a redshirt sophomore from Hendersonville, N.C., won the open pole vault with a clearance of 15' 11.0" in a jump-off at the Liberty Quad. He earned a spot in the jump-off with a leap of 15' 9.0".
The mark in the jump-off gave Gardner-Webb a 1-2 finish in the men's pole vault at the Liberty Quad meet. Freshman Tyler Craig took 2nd place in the event.
Gardner-Webb track & field returns to action at the Appalachian State Pre-Conference meet this weekend.
