
Men's Swimming Takes Third at Close of Three-Day Fall Frenzy Invitational

ROCK HILL, S.C.- Gardner-Webb had a solid final day of the Fall Frenzy Invitational highlighted by two individual second-place finishes from Nathan Lile and Mason Hutchinson, as the Runnin' Bulldogs finished in third-place overall in their final Invitational of the 2015 season.
The Runnin' Bulldogs men's swim team compiled 1436.5 points of the three-day event finishing behind Queens University of Charlotte (1992.5) and Wingate University (1799).
Lile earned his second-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 44.88, while Hutchinson took home a second in the 200 fly swimming the impressive time of 1:52.03. Both Lile and Hutchinson finished behind Dion Dressens of Queens University of Charlotte who is a former Olympian.
In the first event of the evening Luke Denman earned a third-place finish in the 1650 free with a time of 16:03.29, while freshman Peter Wakeley had a nice swim landing him the fifth place spot at a time of 16:05.15.
The next event of the evening saw Connor Bos take fifth-place in the 200 back from a time of 1:54.45, while Joshua Clarke swam a time of 1:55.45 placing in eighth.
Sophomore Austin Toney swam well in the 200 breast this evening earing a sixth-place finish from a time of 2:05.75.
Gardner-Webb closed out the Fall Frenzy Invitational with a good finish in the 400 free relay as Bos, Lile, Clarke, and Manny Avila compiled a team total of 3:06.40
The Runnin' Bulldogs men's swimming team will return to action in 2016 as they travel to Savannah, Ga. facing off against the Savannah College of Art and Design January 15-16.
