Gardner-Webb Duo Shine At Hungarian Nationals

GYOR, Hungary – Gardner-Webb swimmers Adel Kiss and Lili Toth each performed at a high level during the recent Hungarian National Swimming Championships.
Kiss, a rising junior from Szekesfehervar, Hungary, made finals in two different relays during the championships. She was part of the fifth-place team in the 4x100m mixed free and the ninth-place team in the 4x100m mixed medley.
Toth, a rising sophomore from Erd, Hungary, posted top-8 finishes in the 50m breast and the 100m breast for the first time in her career.
She finished eighth in the 50m event with a time of 33.47, which was only four one-hundredths of a second out of fifth place. Toth also finished eighth in the 100m event with a time of 1:12.99 – one of four lifetime best times she clocked at the event.
Toth touched the wall in ninth in the 200m IM (2:23.49), finished 11th in the 200m breast (2:41.96) and 14th in both the 50 back (30.7 seconds) and 50 free (26.84 seconds).
The pair will return to the pool in 2015-2016 for head coach Mike Simpson at Gardner-Webb after helping the Runnin' Bulldogs to a fourth-place team finish at the 2015 CCSA Championships in Athens, Ga.
Toth earned All-CCSA honors for Gardner-Webb, finishing second in the 200 breast with an NCAA "B" cut time (2:15.43). Toth also swam the lead leg for the women's 200 medley relay, which finished third for All-CCSA honors. She was the third leg for the women's 800 free relay which captured fourth place.
