LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Gardner-Webb volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Liberty Friday night in Big South Conference action, with the Flames capturing wins of 25-21, 25-20, and 25-19 in the Vines Center.
With the loss, Gardner-Webb drops to 7-17 on the season and 1-10 in Big South play. Liberty improves to 10-14 overall and 7-4 in league action.
The Runnin' Bulldogs had 29 total kills on the evening, attacking at a .083 clip, while the Flames had 38 kills with a .168 attacking percentage.
Maria Emmick was the leading attacker for GWU, tallying eight kills on 25 swings, hitting at a .240 percentage.
Kaelyn Dyson followed with seven kills on 17 attempts, hitting .294 on the evening.
Amanda Sahm had a double-double on the evening, with 27 assists and 12 digs.
Emma Milstead led the 'Dogs with 16 digs.
Hannah Driscoll led Gardner-Webb with five blocks throughout the evening.
Liberty had two players reach double figures in kills, as Anna Gragg and Gabrielle Vess each had 10 kills. Margaret Latchford had a match-high 21 digs, and Amaya Williams and Anna Willey each had 17 assists to lead the Flames. Sirena Vorster led the team with five blocks.
