Gardner-Webb's Will Millikan Named CoSIDA Football Academic All-District III

BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb junior Will Millikan was named to the Division I Football CoSIDA Academic All-District III team, which is made up of schools from North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Millikan (Pinehurst, N.C. / Pinecrest HS) is in his third season as a starter at left tackle for the Runnin' Bulldogs. He owns a 3.68 cumulative GPA in his major of Business Administration.

The 6-foot-3, 311-pound standout was a preseason All-Big South Conference choice heading into the 2017 season and has now started 29 consecutive games at left tackle. He earned second-team All-Big South Conference honors as a sophomore in 2016, and was named to the Hero Sports FCS Sophomore All-America Team as well.

Millikan burst onto the scene very early in his career, starting the season opener at South Alabama in 2015. He went on to start 10 games as a true freshman, becoming the first Gardner-Webb lineman to start at left tackle as a true freshman since Jamie Dunaway in 2009.

Millikan was joined on the District III offensive line by Garrett Bradbury (NC State), Gabe Brandner (Duke), Eric Gallo (Virginia Tech) and Ryan Rockensuess (Austin Peay).

Gardner-Webb closes out the 2017 season on Saturday afternoon at Presbyterian. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm in Clinton, S.C. (Big South Network).
