
Men's Swimming: Day One Recap of Fall Frenzy Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's swim team currently sits in third place with 363 points following day one of the Fall Frenzy Invitational hosted by Queens University. Host University, Queens, sits in first place with 675 points followed by Limestone College with 397.
Gardner-Webb last matched up with Limestone on October 28, at Bost Pool as the Runnin' Bulldogs topped the Saints 117-69.
Among the competitors this weekend includes: Queens University of Charlotte, Limestone College, Mars Hill University, King University, St. Andrews University, Gardner-Webb University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, UNC Asheville and Pfeiffer University.
In the 500 Yard Freestyle, the Runnin' Bulldogs showed well as Chase Mattingly placed fourth in the A-Final with a time of 4:39.49, while Cullen Fields took second in the B-Final finishing in 4:45.02.
In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Gardner-Webb saw two second-place finishes in both the B and C-Finals as Zach Dingfield (21:13) finished just behind Jorn Frerichs of Limestone who came in at 21:12, in an exciting race. Seggio Bernandina (21:56) took second in the C-Final of the event.
Jordan Mintz (1:54.26) continued his strong fall as he placed third in the B-Final of the 200 Yard IM, narrowly edged by Baptiste Leger of Queens who claimed a time of 1:54.22.
The relay team of Cullen Fields, Jordan Mintz, Seggio Bernandina, and Eli Coan took fourth in the 400 Yard Medley with a time of 3:25.00.
Brendan Teeters took second in the C-Final of the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:01.51.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to the pool tomorrow for day two of competition in what will be their finale event of the fall.
