
Women's Swimming: Day One Recap of Fall Frenzy Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's swim team saw a successful first day of the Fall Frenzy Invitational hosted by Queens University of Charlotte. Upon completion of today's events, the Runnin' Bulldogs currently sit in second place with 509 points, behind host Queens.
Spencer Lucas captured a first-place finish in the C-Final of the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:07.66, as she edged UNC Asheville competitor, Alejandra Sanchez Garcia (5:09.39).
Gardner-Webb relay teams had a strong showing on the opening day of the event as they took second in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay and the 400 Yard Medley.
Audrey Robinson, Kelsey Williams, Jennifer Jackson, and Tessa Walsh combined for a second-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, finishing with a time of 1:35.81.
In the 400 Medley Relay, Lara Siebrecht, Whitney Peters, Jessi Snover and Lili Toth also put together a second-place time of 3:48.33 behind the Queens University relay team.
Charity Bennett secured a second-place finish in the B-Final of the 50 Yard Freestyle coming in at a time of 24.95.
Lauren Oglesby also captured a top-three finish, placing third in the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:04.23).
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to the pool tomorrow for day two of competition in what will be their finale event of the fall.
